It is important to note that some States don’t have any continuing education requirement for their occupational therapy practitioners, including Occupational Therapists (OTs) and Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs). Those that do, generally accept any continuing education courses that is either sponsored by an accredited university or health organization or qualifies as acceptable continuing educational activity.Virtually all Occupational Therapy Licensing Agencies accept any continuing education course that is sponsored or approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA).
